Accolades to the European Internet Foundation on its 10 Year Anniversary

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

On behalf of the Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee (ICAC), I would like to offer my congratulations to the European Internet Foundation (EIF) on their 10th anniversary. The EIF, the European Parliament’s counterpart to the Congressional Internet Caucus, has been working to promote informed policymaking in the digital age since 2000.  We commend the EIF on its longevity and extraordinary productivity over a decade of work promoting the benefits of Internet innovation for all EU citizens.  The EIF has achieved this remarkable milestone thanks to the leadership of its current and past chairs and governors including among others James Elles, Erika Mann and Pilar Del Castillo.

Since the founding of the EIF, when Internet Caucus Co-Chairs Congressmen Boucher and Goodlatte attended EIF’s inaugural event in Brussels at the turn of the millennium, our organizations have worked together to share ideas and to ponder the policy steps needed to ensure that the Internet achieves its full potential.  We have been inspired and excited by the great strides made by the EIF in these last ten years to encourage engaged and informed policy leadership in the digital area. It has been a great pleasure to watch the EIF grow over the last decade, and we wish them even more success in the next.

Sincerely,

Tim Lordan
