Attorney General Loretta Lynch to Keynote State of the Net

We are thrilled to announce that the Honorable Loretta Lynch, 83rd Attorney General of the United States, will be a keynote speaker at the 12th Annual State of the Net Internet Policy Conference on January 25th, 2016. The State of the Net Conference is the largest Internet policy conference in the country and is unique in its mandate to be an open forum for Internet policy debate. Ms. Lynch’s participation as a keynote speaker highlights the importance of the Internet in governance and law enforcement today.

Ms. Lynch received her A.B, cum laude, from Harvard College in 1981 and her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1984. She was appointed to lead the office of the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York for the first time in 1999 by President Clinton, and a second time in 2010 by President Obama. In April 2015, Ms. Lynch was sworn in as the Attorney General by Vice President Joe Biden. Since in office, Ms. Lynch has been avidly involved in global and domestic matters dealing with corrupt officials, cybercriminals, terrorists, and human traffickers.

Ms. Lynch has led the Department of Justice as it has navigated new issues for law enforcement on the Internet as well as threats from terrorists and extremist actors online. State of the Net will also feature breakout discussions in the afternoon examining these and other issues central transnational relations and internet policy.
